Dr. Richard Welles is Co-Director of C3S. Rick has over 4 decades of experience in public, private and charter education K-12, as assistant superintendent, principal, staff developer, and elementary and English teacher. For several years Rick was a regional vice president of a charter Educational Services Provider working with charter school boards and leaders in New York, DC and Philadelphia. Rick has deep experience in leadership training and recruitment. Dr. Welles presently serves as co-founder and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Academy of the City Charter School in Woodside and is also Executive Director of the Open School Project.
Steven Zimmerman is Co-Director of C3S. Steve has founded two charter schools in Queens—Our World Neighborhood Charter School, where he served as board chairman for five years and, most recently, Academy of the City Charter School. He was an elementary school teacher in the inner-city of Chicago during the Model Cities Program years and later worked for 15 years in educational publishing, first as a science editor and later as principal of BookLinks, a company that provides ESL, bilingual and design services for US school publishers. Steve is also the founder an educational technology startup and has spent the last several years working on a digital collaborative tool for authentic assessment.
Oma S. Holloway is the Family and Community Coordinator at CS3. As Founder and Principal Strategist of ADENA Consulting Group, Oma has over 15 years of successful program implementation, training and management experience in field of youth development, preventive service, after school and education programs, re-entry programs for adults and young people, adult literacy and youth workforce development in New York City. Throughout her professional career, Oma has developed an expertise in “crisis” or “turnaround” management of programs or performance based government contracts that need immediate and critical direction to make performance targets goals and outcomes expectations. She has worked with noted national and local not for profit organizations in New York City including the National Urban League, National Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse, SCO Family of Services, The Door –A Center of Alternatives, among others.
Rose Pacult is the Outreach Director at the Coalition of Community Charter Schools. She is the author of Knowing Zasd by His Walk VOL I-III (Dokument Press) and the poetry collections Bending (Juste Ici) and Lifter + Lighter (Hasau Mountain). Prior to working in education advocacy, Rose was Head of Submissions at Possible Books in Berlin, Germany and worked as a producer at CF Productions in LA. She runs Queen House Books, and additionally, travels as a creative consultant when not teaching, researching, and crafting her own works.
Edward Rivera is the Graphic Design and Social Media Specialist for C3S. A graduate of Baruch College with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in Graphic Design, Edward brings his skill sets together in creating the C3S brand through artful web design, marketing materials and newsletters. Edward maintains the C3S website and strategizes our social media presence. His previous work includes eCommerce web design and Walt Disney World’s Disney College Program in Orlando, FL. Edward is an avid fan of the Food Network and home design shows, and has a healthy obsession with Britney Spears and Beyonce.
